Cub Scouts This Week!

Hello Pack Families,

I hope you all had a safe and Happy New Year! I can't believe it is already 2022. Looking forward to this year being better than the last and getting back to all of our fun scouting activities.

Den Meetings:
There are no den meetings this week. Our meetings will resume next week on Wednesday, January 12th. An email will be sent out next week to let you know where we will be meeting.

Pack Leader Planning Meeting:
We have scheduled a Pack Leader planning meeting for this Tuesday, January 4th at 6:30 at  Cubmaster Nicky's house, 2128 Broken Rail Lane in Rocklin. We will be planning out the Pack schedule for the next 2-3 months. I apologize for the last minute, trying to coordinate schedules has been challenging. I will be bringing pizza for dinner so if you are able to come, please let me know so I know how much to buy.

If you are interested in becoming a part of our Pack leadership team, you are welcome to come and join us. We can always use more parents to help out. Our volunteers are what make our Pack such a successful one.

Christmas Tree Fundraiser: Help Needed!!

Our Christmas Tree Pick-up Fundraiser is in full swing. We had a lot of trees scheduled for pick up. This week, Jan. 5th, 8th and 9th, looks to be even busier than the last so we desperately need more drivers to sign up. Right now Troop 435 is beating us in this area by having more drivers covering the routes. In order for us to raise enough money to help fund our yearly activities is it crucial that we get more help.

So we need to run as many trucks and truck/trailer combos as we can each day. To continue to be safe this year due to Covid, we are keeping families apart, so instead of having 2 adults with their scouts in one truck to pick up the trees, we are having sign-ups for a chase vehicle to assist, for those who want to help but do not have a truck.

So if you haven't signed up yet, please go to our site at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040B4FA8AA2AA75-Christmas and let us know if you have just a truck or a truck or vehicle that can tow a trailer, and if you have access to a trailer to use, or if you want to be a chase driver. You are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts too. If you have a friend or a family member with a truck who would love to help, have them sign up too.

Shifts on the Sign-up page are for 8:30am- 12:00pm, but if you are able to take 2 shifts on one day, please make a note on the website as well, so we can figure that in when creating our routes.

I know that this is a busy time of year for everyone with family and friends over the holidays, but this is an important fundraiser for both our Units and the money earned helps support Scouting and all the amazing activities our Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts do.

So if you can possibly help out, even if only for a couple of hours, please sign up. Last year we had to turn away customers as we did not have enough help and we hate doing that.

Thank you for your support!

Pinewood Derby Information:
Our Pinewood Derby is a little over a month away, on Saturday, February 12th, so I wanted to send out our Official Pinewood Derby Rules, please see attachment.

This is one of our best events of the year. The scouts always have a blast. We handed out the Official BSA derby kits at our Christmas Pack Meeting. If your scout didn't receive one, please contact me to arrange a time to come by and pick one up.

We will also be having a sibling race and a Parent (Pro Class) race so if any of you are interested in either of those races, you can pick up additional kits as well.

This is one of the highlights of our year and we look forward to everyone participating.

Have a great week!

Miss JoAnn
