Pinewood Derby Rules!

Hello Pack Families,

Our Pinewood Derby is less than a month away on Saturday, February 9th, so I wanted to send out our Official Pinewood Derby Rules, please see attachment, and some Derby Information..

This is one of our best events of the year. The scouts always have a blast. We handed out the Official BSA derby kits at our Christmas Pack Meeting.

We will also be having a sibling race and a Parent (Pro Class) race so if any of you are interested in either of those races, you can purchase additional kits for $4.00.

Our PInewood Derby workshop is this Saturday, January 19th at my house, 1931 Sanderling Court in Rocklin, for anyone who may need extra help. If your scout didn't receive a kit yet, we will have more available.there. We will have band saws, sanders and a drill press for your use as well as templates you scout can use to design his car. The workshop will be from 10am  - 12pm.

At our Derby, we will be giving out 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for the following:
  - Lion Class
  - Tiger Class
  - Wolf Class
  - Bear Class
  - Webelos 1 Class
  - Webelos 2 Class
  
We also are handing out awards for:
  -  "Fastest" Sibling
  -  "Fastest "Pro Class" - for those parents who want to go all out on their own car
  -  Best Patriotic Design!
  -  Best Scout Design!
  -  Best of Show!
  -  Cubmaster's Pick!

This is one of the highlights of our year and we look forward to everyone participating.

For our second campout of the summer, we have reserved campsites for the weekend of July 13th-16th in the Upper Loop of the Van Damme State Park. Cub Scouts This Week: Christmas Pack Meeting Help Needed!!

Hello Cub Scout Families, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It really has been getting cold. Starting to feel like Christmas for sure. Den Meetings: We have regular den meetings, Lions den too, this Wednesday at 6:30 in the classrooms at Ruhkala Elementary School, except for the following dens : Bear Den: The Bear Den will be meeting at my house, 1931 Sanderling Court in Rocklin, at 6:30 to start work on a wood project. Webelos 2 Den: Webelos 2's, you will be meeting at David Brame's house, 1008 Silver Saddle Lane, Rocklin, for some whittling. Please have your scout bring dues and a pocket knife to the meeting. We will be providing the wood. See's Candy Special Orders Due: Your See's Candy special orders and money are due on Wednesday. Please turn them in to me or your den leader. Cub Scouts This Week: Spooky Mini-Golf Night!!

Hello Pack Families, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Spooky Mini - Golf & Costume Night : This Wednesday, October 24th, at 6:00pm is our Annual Spooky Mini - Golf & Costume Night at Golfland Sunsplash (meet upstairs).  Cub Scouts and the whole family can come in costume!!!  The cost is $5.00 per person for pizza and soda a nd $8.00 per person for mini - golf . To make it easier again this year and to cut down on the long lines the night of our event, we have set up a form on our website for you to sign up and pay ahead of time with a credit card or Paypal.
