Cub Scouts This Week: Pancake Breakfast Ticket Sales in Progress

Hello Pack 102 Families,

I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend. We have a number of important events going on over the next few weeks, so please read through the email for all the pertinent information.

Den Meetings:
We have regular den meetings this week at 6:30 in the classrooms at Ruhkala Elementary School. Please have your son in uniform, with handbook and dues.

Webelos 1 Den:
Webelos, you will be hiking the Miner's Ravine Trail.this Wednesday.  Please meet at 6:30pm at the rear of the United Artists movie theater parking lot at 520 N. Sunrise. The Miners Ravine trail runs behind the parking lot. Scouts can wear their Pack t-shirt instead of the uniform.

Pancake Breakfast Ticket Sales in Progress:
Our Pack is once again hosting our annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 12th at the Rocklin Community Festival at Johnson-Springview Park from 8am -11am.  This is a great fundraiser and an excellent opportunity to help support our Charter Organization, the Kiwanis of Rocklin.

Last week we handed out an envelope with 10 pancake breakfast tickets to each scout to sell. I hope your scouts are having fun selling their tickets.  The tickets are $5.00 each and for every ticket your son sells, he gets $2.50 in his scout account.  If you didn't receive an envelope, please see me this Wednesday.

We really would like to see every scout sell at least 10 tickets, more would be awesome as t
his fundraiser helps us pay for some of our summer events and is a great way for your son to earn money to help pay for scouting activities and equipment.

Please turn in Pancake Breakfast ticket money to your den leader or to me by next Wednesday, May 9th or If you would like more time to sell, just let me know.

Online Pancake Breakfast Ticket Sales:
This year we have set up a form on our Pack's website to help you sell Pancake Breakfast tickets by credit card online as well. This is a great opportunity to use your Social Media sites to help your scout sell tickets and earn money for his scout account. Just have your friends, family and neighbors go to our website at: www.pack102.com and fill out the form to purchase tickets. There is a spot for them to put your scout's name so he gets credit for the sale.

Fundraisers like this help us to continue to provide a quality scouting program for our boys while keeping the cost down for the parents so thank you for your support.

Pancake Breakfast Help Needed:
As with any event, we need volunteers to make this one successful so we are looking for parents to help with set up, cooking, serving and taking down our booth.

Set up will start at 7am near the Pavilion at Johnson-Springview Park. We will be serving breakfast from 8am-11am and we will take everything down after. If you have not yet volunteered at a Pack event, this is a very easy one to help with.

Please go to our Sign-up site below to sign-up. If you can't be present the entire time that is okay, when you sign up, please put what time you can be present in the notes section.

Rocklin 125th Anniversary Parade:
The Rocklin Kiwanis, our Charter Organization, have invited Pack 102 to join them at the Rocklin 125th Anniversary Parade.  This is a fun opportunity to show Rocklin that we have the best Pack in town.

The parade route is about 1 mile and includes Rocklin Road, Front Street, Farron and 5th St, so bring your walking shoes and water for the little ones.  The parade ends at Johnson-Springview park where the Rocklin Community Festival is being hosted.  The festival includes live entertainment from local artists, carnival rides and games, delicious food, and local business and arts & craft booths.

Parade will begin at 9:00 am. All parade entrants need to be onsite and checked in between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m at Springview Middle School. Scouts and leaders, please be in uniforms.

Parade details and information can be found here

Parade route map is here.

Please print and fill out a waiver for each participant and bring with you (download waiver here).

Please plan on having your scout participate.  To let us know you will be attending go to our Sign up site at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094ca4ac22a6f49-rocklin

If you haven't yet signed up, please do. We really want to have as many scouts walking in the parade as possible to make a good showing for our Pack.

Pack Promotions Ceremony:
Our Pack Promotions Ceremony and Dessert Social will be on Saturday, May 19th at 7:00pm. This is the time where our Scouts earn their rank badges they have worked so hard on this year and then get to  cross over into their new rank and receive their new uniform items.

T
he cost of the uniform items which include their new hat, neckerchief, slide and handbook for Scouts advancing into the Wolf or Bear dens is $47.00 and for scouts advancing into the Webelos 1 den it is $58.00 and also includes the Webelos colors pin.. If you have a boy going into 1st grade (Tiger) next year who wants to join our Pack, the whole Tiger uniform cost including shirt, belt and patches will be $97.00.

Please make checks out to Pack 102 and turn in to your son's den leader or JoAnn Stone by May 9th so there will be enough time to purchase all the uniform items before the ceremony.

Badges & Belt loops:
Parents, please let your den leaders know what Adventure requirements and electives your scouts have completed towards earning their Scout rank by May 9th so we can get it all entered into the council website and purchase all the awards before our Promotions Ceremony. This will be the last chance for your Scout to earn their den rank before crossing over into their new den.

Have a great week!!

Miss JoAnn
