Cub Scouts This Week: Pinewood Derby!!!

Hello Pack 102 Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend enjoying the nice sunny weather and watching the Superbowl. Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, Superbowl Champions! Awesome game!

Den Meetings:
We have regular den meetings this Wednesday at 6:30 in the classrooms at Ruhkala Elementary School.  Please have your son in uniform, with handbook and dues.

Bear Den:
The Bear Den won't be having a meeting this week as we will be using the Room L classroom for our Derby Registration. Please still come to the school to register your derby car.

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Overnighter:
There is still time to sign up for the 5th Annual Boardwalk Spring Jam on March 16-17 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Join us as we sleep overnight inside the Boardwalk's Cocoanut Grove. The Early Bird Price is $80.00 per person. Event T-shirts are an additional $15.00 per person.

Pinewood Derby, This Saturday::
Welcome Race Fans to Pack 102's Speed Week!!
 
Race Day is this Saturday, February 10th at Ruhkala Elementary in the Multi-Use Room.

What an awesome time this will be!  Racing! Games! Awards! Food! Fun!

Our Speed Week Schedule is as follows:

Pinewood Derby Registration:
This Wednesday, February 7th, we will be registering the pinewood derby cars.  Our leaders will be heading up the registration. Cars need to be completed, and ready to submit.  Once the car is registered, it will stay with the pack and returned after the derby is over. 

Parents, take your scout to their den meeting at 6:30 first and then meet in the portable Room L classroom to register their car.

Important: Attached is our Pinewood Derby rules. Please adhere to them as it makes the races fair for everyone. We will be using the Pack's official Pinewood Derby scale to check weight. There will be an area set up for you to use if you need to make any necessary adjustments to pass inspection.

RACE DAY:
Opening flags are at 2:30.  Please have your scouts attend in uniform. If you still need to register your car, registration will be from 1:30 - 2:00pm. Please be on time so that we can get you entered into the system in time for the race.

Pinewood Derby Cafe:
To help make the afternoon relaxing so that the entire family can focus on having fun, our Webelos II den are sponsoring the Pinewood Derby Cafe.  This year they will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, fruit and desserts.

The Pinewood Derby Cafe will be open at 1:30pm for your fine dining pleasure.

I encourage each family to support the Webelos 2's by purchasing your lunch at the race. The proceeds will go to fund their Arrow of Light Ceremony coming up..

Parent Help Needed!
In order to make this a fun event that goes smoothly, we really do need lots of parent volunteers. We need help with set up and decorations starting at 12:00pm. We also need parents to help with running some fun tables; a table for scouts to make stands for their cars, a craft table for making tie slides and a puzzle and coloring table. Please let me know if you can come and help us.

We want this to be an amazing experience for all our boys!

Den Meetings: We have regular den meetings this Wednesday at 6:30 at Breen Elementary School, 2751 Breen Drive in Rocklin.  As we are now meeting on the School grounds, both parents and Scouts need to bring a mask to wear. Cub Scouts This Week!

Hello Pack Families, I hope you all had a safe and Happy New Year! I can't believe it is already 2022. Looking forward to this year being better than the last and getting back to all of our fun scouting activities. Den Meetings: There are no den meetings this week. Our meetings will resume next week on Wednesday, January 12th. An email will be sent out next week to let you know where we will be meeting. Pack Leader Planning Meeting: We have scheduled a Pack Leader planning meeting for this Tuesday, January 4th at 6:30 at  Cubmaster Nicky's house, 2128 Broken Rail Lane in Rocklin.  We will be planning out the Pack schedule for the next 2-3 months. I apologize for the last minute, trying to coordinate schedules has been challenging. I will be bringing pizza for dinner so if you are able to come, please let me know so I know how much to buy. Hi Cub Scout Families, Hope you are staying cool this weekend. It is a hot one for sure. Due to our Fireworks Sales Fundraiser this week there are no scheduled activities. But speaking of Fireworks, I know like a broken record again, Lol.... Fireworks Booths - Help Needed - More Shifts Still Open!! The following shifts for our Fireworks Booth still have openings that we still need to be filled, especially on the July 3rd and 4th . Those days are where we do most of our business. Your help is really needed to make this a successful fundraiser for us again this year.
