Cub Scouts This Week!

Hello Cub Scout Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Our Pinewood Derby workshop was a lot of fun. I love seeing all the boys and girls designing and working on their cars. A big Thank You to all the parents who helped us set, and run the workshop and clean up. I am excited to see all the cars race next month. It is going to be a blast.

Den Meetings:
We have regular den meetings this Wednesday at 6:30 in the classrooms at Ruhkala Elementary School.  Please have your son in uniform, with handbook and dues.

Webelos 1 Den:
The Webelos 1 Den will not be meeting this Wednesday as they have an activity planned for Saturday. Mr. Mike will be sending out more information soon.

Free Museum Day:
Free Museum Day is Saturday, February 3rd. You are welcome to join us this year as we visit the Aerospace Museum of California, 3200 Freedom Park Drive, McClellan, CA 95652.. The museum opens at 10am so please arrive at 9:45. It will give us a chance to get a group picture in front of their large sign before going in. The cost is free.  Besides all the cool exhibits, they will also have a number of different planes out on the tarmac that you will be able to climb into and explore.

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Overnighter:
You are invited to the 5th Annual Boardwalk Spring Jam on March 16-17 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Join us as we sleep overnight inside the Boardwalk's Cocoanut Grove. The Early Bird Price is $80.00 per person. Event T-shirts are an additional $15.00 per person.

Pinewood Derby, Saturday, February 10:
Our Pinewood Derby is a little over two weeks away on Saturday, February 10th, so we wanted to send out some important information. Oh, and if you still need a derby kit, please contact me to arrange a time to pick one up.

We will be giving out 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for the following:
  - Tiger Class
  - Wolf Class
  - Bear Class
  - Webelos 1 Class
  - Webelos 2 Class
  
We also are handing out awards for:
  -  "Fastest" Sibling
  -  "Fastest "Pro Class" - for those parents who want to go all out on their own car
  -  Best Patriotic Design!
  -  Best Scout Design!
  -  Best of Show!
  -  Cubmaster's Pick!

Pinewood Derby Registration:
Wednesday, February 7th, we will be registering the pinewood derby cars.  A few of our leaders will be heading up the registration. Parents should take their scout to their den meeting first and then meet in the Room L2 (portable building next to the sheds) to register their car. Once it passes inspection and is registered, we will collect your car and bring it back on Race Day. There will be a small workshop area set up for you to use if you need to make any necessary adjustments before registering.

To make Race Day go more smoothly we would like all cars to be registered on that Wednesday.

Attached are our all important "Official Pack 102 Pinewood Derby Rules". Please make sure to read these thoroughly.

Parent Help Needed:

In order to make this a fun event that goes smoothly, lots of parent help is needed. We need help with set up and decorations starting at 12pm.  We will also need help with running some fun tables.  A table for scouts to make stands for their cars, a table for making tie slides, and a coloring and puzzle table.

 

If you have any other fun ideas please let me know.  We want this to be an awesome experience for all our boys!

Hi Pack Families, I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far. Den Meetings: We have regular den meetings this Wednesday at 6:30 at Breen Elementary School, 2751 Breen Drive in Rocklin.  As we are now meeting on the School grounds, both parents and Scouts need to bring a mask to wear. Cub Scouts This Week!

Hello Pack Families, I hope you all had a safe and Happy New Year! I can't believe it is already 2022. Looking forward to this year being better than the last and getting back to all of our fun scouting activities. Den Meetings: There are no den meetings this week. Our meetings will resume next week on Wednesday, January 12th. An email will be sent out next week to let you know where we will be meeting. Pack Leader Planning Meeting: We have scheduled a Pack Leader planning meeting for this Tuesday, January 4th at 6:30 at  Cubmaster Nicky's house, 2128 Broken Rail Lane in Rocklin.  We will be planning out the Pack schedule for the next 2-3 months. I apologize for the last minute, trying to coordinate schedules has been challenging. I will be bringing pizza for dinner so if you are able to come, please let me know so I know how much to buy. Cub Scouts This Week: Fireworks Booth Sales Continue!

Hi Cub Scout Families, Hope you are staying cool this weekend. It is a hot one for sure. Due to our Fireworks Sales Fundraiser this week there are no scheduled activities. But speaking of Fireworks, I know like a broken record again, Lol.... Fireworks Booths - Help Needed - More Shifts Still Open!! The following shifts for our Fireworks Booth still have openings that we still need to be filled, especially on the July 3rd and 4th . Those days are where we do most of our business. Your help is really needed to make this a successful fundraiser for us again this year.
